RSU Medical Education Technology Center

Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) at the Researchers' Night from 6pm will be waiting for the visitors at the Medical Education Technology Center (Anniņmuižas bulvāris 26a) and RSU Latvian Sports Pedagogy Academy (Brīvības gatve 333).

At the RSU Medical Education Technology Center, everyone will have the opportunity to learn the basics of first aid, patient reception and care skills, "try on" the profession of a dentist, try surgical simulators, participate in exciting chemistry experiments, look into the operating room, delivery room and augmented reality room, as well as participate in other activities and meet researchers from different fields.

Event program:

• First aid. Learn how to save an unconscious victim and use an automatic external defibrillator;
• Reception department. Take a look at the simulated trauma admissions department;
• Surgery. Wash your hands like a real surgeon and peek into the operating room;
• Surgical knotting. Try one of the most important skills in any surgeon's job;
• Laparoscopic surgery. Test your manual dexterity with the LapBox surgery simulator;
• Immersive environment. Look into the space of virtual and augmented reality;
• Quiz. Test your knowledge of obstetrics and medicine;
• Obstetrics. Learn the traditions of obstetrics, take a look at the birth simulator;
• The long way in the halls. Chemistry demonstrations and experiments;
• Patient room. Find out how patients are weighed, measured and try the introduction of medication into the catheter;
• 3D modeling. Participate in the creation and printing of a 3D model, learn more about augmented reality;
• Dentistry. Try your hand at the dental simulator;
• Kinship laboratory. Engage in research on kinship relationships in modern society;
• Gym. Try the trainers and learn more about the positive effects of movement on health.

N.B. Individual pre-registration is not required. It is possible to accommodate groups of students up to 100 visitors at the same time. Maximum number of simultaneous visitors: 500.
