The European Commission has announced a call for nominations of outstanding researchers to be included in the list of candidates for future participation in the European Commission's Group of Chief Scientific Advisors (GCSA).
The aim is to select and nominate outstanding researchers who could be included in the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors (GCSA) of the European Commission. The group provides independent and high-quality scientific advice to the European Commission to support its decision-making in various policy areas. The aim is to ensure that the European Union's policy and legislative processes are based on the latest and most accurate scientific data and recommendations, thus helping the Commission to effectively respond to existing and future challenges.
The nomination conditions include the following main criteria:
- Outstanding research experience: Candidates should be specialists in their research field with an international reputation and contribution to their research field.
- Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary understanding: Candidates should have a broad understanding of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research that enables them to advise on a variety of research and policy issues.
- Independence and objectivity: Candidates must be able to provide independent and objective research advice that is not influenced by external circumstances or conflicts of interest.
- Ability to collaborate: Candidates must be able to collaborate effectively with other team members and various stakeholders to ensure comprehensive and high-quality research advice.
The deadline for submitting nominations is September 30, 2024 at 18:00 Central European Time (CET). Nominations can only be submitted by European public research organisations. Candidates already on the previous list do not need to be nominated again.
