The Latvian Science Council has announced a competition for project applications for a new national research program "Analysis of the suitability of artificial intelligence methods in the field of European Union fund projects" for 2024-2025. Within the framework of the competition, one project will be financed with a maximum funding of 102,300 euros. The main focus of the program is on artificial intelligence solutions in the monitoring of EU fund projects in order to improve the monitoring of procurement processes and speed up the repayment of funding to project implementers. The institution responsible for project implementation is the Central Financial Contracts Agency.

According to the regulations of the open competition for program project applications, the following tasks are set for the VPP:

  • Check the solutions of generative artificial intelligence in the analysis of procurement documentation of European Union fund projects;
  • Assess the technological readiness and suitability of generative artificial intelligence solutions for analyzing texts and generating answers in the Latvian language in the monitoring processes of European Union fund projects;
  • Measure and compare the quality indicators of different generative artificial intelligence solutions.

The project implementation period is 9 months, starting from the date of entry into force of the contract on project implementation.

Latvian scientific institutions registered in the Register of Scientific Institutions are invited to submit project applications until 5:00 p.m., September 23, 2024.
