The talk show "Science up close" produced by Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences is returning to television

With a new season, ReTV returns "Science up close" - a talk show about research and topics relevant to society. The series of nine programs offered by Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) will be hosted by journalist Sandra Kropa-Kaļužnaya. In the new season, viewers will have the opportunity to hear conversations and discussions about changes in Latvia's demography, fact-checking and its importance today, internal communication of companies, changes in abandoned buildings, the development and inclusion of robotics in everyday life, popularization of research in schools, shipbuilding and other topics. Watch the program on the ReTV channel from September 4 on Wednesdays at 19.50

"Science up close: How did Latvians live and reproduce in the last 100 years?"

How did Latvians live and reproduce in the last 100 years? The guests of episode 1 of the 4th season of the talk show "Science up close" discuss it - historian, leading researcher of ViA Gatis Krūmiņš and demographer, representative of the UN International Organization for Migration in Latvia Ilmārs Mežs. In the "Baltic 100" project, researchers have found out what the development and economic growth of the Baltic countries has been in the last 100 years. In the program, there is an opportunity to learn more about the average life expectancy - an indicator of the nation's well-being - how has it changed and what has influenced it? It is also possible to find out how the life expectancy of residents differs in different regions of Latvia.
