About event
Description

Allowing young and old to discover the magic of research on Researchers' Night, RTU will offer a wide program of activities both for those interested in robotics, drones, electronics and computers, and for those who want to learn about everything related to drinking water, building, bridge, road construction, going into space or vast seas, building formulas for speed races, obtaining energy from renewable resources, smart biomaterials to replace bones, microorganisms that are all around us, different substances, their properties and chemical processes in real life.

Visitors to the Researchers' Night at RTU will be able to meet researchers and visit laboratories, getting to know the most modern research equipment, and test various skills in simulators, for example, trying their hand at steering a ship, as well as indulge in flaming explosive experiments, building, programming, prototyping, driving, soldering, measuring, making by themselves textile and wood products and much more, as well as take a picture with a skeleton, taste steaming delicacies and let yourself relax in a musical performance created by a supercomputer.

This year, for the first time, the RTU Latvian Maritime Academy will participate in the Researchers' Night, and visitors will have the opportunity to visit the new building of the Baltic Biomaterials Excellence Center, where scientists will research and develop biomaterials for bone tissue regeneration, face, mouth and jaw surgery, orthopedics and other fields.
