About event

A seminar titled "Drone Technologies" will take place at the Riga Technical University (RTU) Science and Innovation Center hall "The Moon," located at Ķīpsalas Street 6A, introducing the achievements and future plans of RTU scientists.

During the seminar, scientists will present several completed projects, such as an unmanned aerial vehicle detection and identification system, the design and development of an aerodynamically efficient unmanned aircraft, as well as a project aimed at improving the performance of FPV drones.

Participants will also have the opportunity to meet Tenured Professor Andris Slavinskis from the RTU Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, who is developing space technologies at RTU. He will discuss the determination of the position of flying objects.

The seminar will be opened by Ivo Vaicis, Head of the RTU Drone Technology Academic Group and Vice Dean for Innovation at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Combining expertise in science and innovation promotion, RTU established the first new-type academic group in the second half of last year, aiming to generate new knowledge and innovative solutions in the field of unmanned technologies – aerial, ground, water, and underwater.

The Drone Technology Academic Group has an ambitious goal – to become a national and Baltic-level leader in drone technology research and development.
