The tenth LAMPA conversation festival was held in dynamic and valuable conversations On the weekend of July 5 and 6. Experts and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science participated in a total of 12 discussions and activities. The research communication platform "researchLatvia" organized an exciting two-day program "From preschool to astronaut" with the Cēsis-based Space Discovery Center "MiniLAMPA" and invited young space explorers to participate in various activities to get to know the exciting world of space.

The theme of space is a great opportunity for joint, exploratory activities as a family. Have you ever dreamed of traveling in space? Do you like stars, planets and everything related to the infinite universe? Then you haven't missed anything yet and you can start preparing for these trips today!

Latvia has been a member of the European Space Agency since 2020, thus Latvians also have the opportunity to link their education and career with the space industry. Young people, as well as the smallest participants of the talk festival, together with their parents, could learn how it is possible to get to know the world of space at every age and educational stage and simultaneously develop both their physical talents and professional competences, preparing for the mission to Mars, which is planned for 2050.

It is estimated that around 2,300 interested people attended the activities on both days of the event, thus increasing the consumption of science among young people and children. By finding answers to questions about the space field on the research communication platform, the participants of the activities won a themed one-off tattoo as a prize.

The activities took place in project no. 1.1.1.1/1/24/I/001 within the framework of “More Efficient Implementation and Management of Latvian Science Policy.”
