Riga Technical University (RTU) has launched a significant study titled "Roadmap for the Development of E-Governance in Latvia," aimed at supporting the digital transformation of Latvia's public administration. The study will provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of Latvia's e-government systems and offer solutions to make e-governance more efficient, user-friendly, and innovative, based on international best practices and the latest technologies.
Study Goals and Structure
The RTU study consists of three phases:
- Analysis of the Current Situation – Evaluating the functionality of Latvia's current e-government systems, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and developing improvement proposals.
- Mapping Digital Transformation Systems – Creating a detailed overview of the state administration's IT systems and their interactions, which will serve as the foundation for an integrated and interconnected system structure.
- Developing a Roadmap for the Future – Proposing a digital transformation roadmap that includes strategic goals, specific steps, and timelines to make e-governance more accessible, secure, and sustainable.
The study employs both quantitative and qualitative approaches to ensure a detailed and well-founded analysis, including surveys, expert interviews, and in-depth data analysis. RTU researchers will pay particular attention to studying international best practices and innovative solutions, such as the potential use of artificial intelligence in public administration.
RTU Invites Citizens and IT Specialists to Participate in Surveys and Contribute
To ensure the study results reflect user needs, RTU will organize several surveys in November and December, inviting citizens and specialists from public administration organizations to participate and share their opinions. The data gathered will be an essential resource in creating effective and user-friendly e-governance.
