The leading Baltic universities of technology – Riga Technical University (RTU), Tallinn University of Technology and Kaunas University of Technology – in collaboration with international partners, invite doctoral students to apply for PhD BalticTeach Autumn School to develop skills in commercialization and scaling of research results.
The school comprises a two-month individual online learning course, a three-day face-to-face school, and an incubation programme. The autumn school aims to develop PhD students’ knowledge and skills in business plan development to help them turn their research ideas into successful startups.
PhD students whose research focuses on advanced materials, sustainability or circular economy and who are looking for opportunities to commercialize their research results are invited to apply for the PhD BalticTeach Autumn School by September 8 here.
The Autumn School, which is already the second doctoral school within the PhD BalticTeach project, will commence in the latter half of September with an intensive, tailor-made online course covering systems thinking, sustainable materials, and the circular economy. Participants will also have access to additional challenge-based learning materials.
Following the online course, school participants will have the opportunity to attend a three-day face-to-face school from November 12 to 14 at Tallinn University of Technology. During the on-site school, participating in seminars, workshops, and guest lectures by science-based business entrepreneurs, students will acquire a unique blend of theoretical and practical knowledge in business plan development, which is a crucial step in commercializing research ideas. At the end of the autumn school, students will benefit from an incubation programme that includes inspiring online lectures, one-to-one mentoring, and assistance in preparing business plans and taking subsequent steps.
The whole training module of the Autumn School comprises 150 academic hours, and by completing the entire module, students will earn 6 ECTS credits. The fee for the school is €200.
The number of students accepted for the Autumn School is limited. All submitted applications will be evaluated by the selection committee, and the selected students will be contacted personally between September 16 and 22.
