LOSI and BMC Announce a Grant Competition for Doctoral Students Pursuing an Academic Career

The Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis (LOSI) and the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre (BMC) are announcing a grant competition for doctoral students aiming to develop an academic career.

Doctoral grants for academic careers are individual grants that provide funding for doctoral students to conduct research related to their doctoral studies, the preparation of their thesis, or theoretical and creative research work necessary for successful academic and artistic development.

Total funding available for the competition is €430,080:

  • Funding available at BMC: €43,008
  • Funding available at OSI: €387,072

The deadline for submitting project proposals is December 16, 2024, at 24:00.

The competition is announced under the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility Plan, within reform and investment direction 5.2: “Ensuring the transition to a new higher education governance model,” specifically under reform 5.2.1.r “Reform of Excellence and Governance in Higher Education and Science” and investment 5.2.1.1.i “Grants for Research, Development, and Consolidation.” This is part of the second round of “Consolidation and Governance Change Implementation Grants” under the project agreement No. 5.2.1.1.i.0/2/24/I/CFLA/001 “Consolidation of the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre.”
