Conference “Human Dignity and Artificial Intelligence – Where Humans and Technology Meet.”

About event

On March 13th, the University of Latvia (UL) Academic Centre will host an international conference titled “Human Dignity and Artificial Intelligence – Where Humans and Technology Meet.” The event is free of charge and will take place at the Science House, Jelgavas iela 3, Riga, from 13:00 to 18:00. The working languages will be Latvian and English.

"The introduction of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) into business processes is increasingly transforming the everyday work environment. In order to maintain competitiveness, both company employees and managers must acquire new skills and be able to effectively adapt to digital changes. Therefore, UL invites managers, HR professionals, and employees of Latvian companies to the conference to discuss the impact of AI on the labor market, business, and the development of digital skills, together with local and international experts," says Irina Bausova, Director of the UL Professional Development Academy (PPA).

The conference will feature discussions on various aspects of business and AI, as well as success stories of specific companies successfully integrating AI into business processes.

  • European-level and national strategies for digital transformation and lifelong learning – How support mechanisms promote business development and the enhancement of digital skills
  • AI opportunities and challenges in business – How AI is changing the work environment, decision-making, and company efficiency
  • Skills that help successfully collaborate with AI systems – What are the essential digital competencies and how to develop them
  • LU researchers' innovations as a competitive advantage for Latvian companies – How PPA and the industry can collaborate in the development of new technologies
  • How continuous skills development ensures professional growth and business development
  • Future competencies and success stories – What skills and approaches already help companies and employees succeed

The goal of the conference is to provide local entrepreneurs with an opportunity to meet world-class experts, build new connections, expand their understanding of digital skills development trends and opportunities, and receive practical advice on how to better adapt to the rapidly changing market situation. The conference is the first event in the project “Latvia’s Digital Skills Roadmap for Enterprises,” where Latvian companies can receive 50-70% co-financing for their employees' digital skills development. Participation in the conference is free, with registration available at https://www.mittoevents.com/lu-latvijas-uznemumu-digitalo-prasmju-celvedis/lu-ppa-registracija.
