The 2024 open project selection of the research cooperation initiative of the countries of the Baltic Sea Region, Ukraine and the United States of America has ended

In order to support excellence in research, education and innovation, as well as to promote the integration of Ukrainian researchers into the global research community, the selection of project applications for the cooperation initiative of the Baltic Sea Region, Ukraine and the United States of America in research was announced at the beginning of April.

In the open selection of projects from a total of 15 applications, three projects received approval:

  1. University of Latvia, initiative project "Groundwater Resilience Assessment through iNtegrated Data Exploration for Ukraine (GRANDE-U)", total eligible funding - EUR 99,999.30
  2. University of Latvia, initiative project "Tailored Molecular Transport in Low-Dimensional Hybrid Materials from 1D Nanocrystals and 2D Nanosheets", total eligible funding - 100,000 EUR
  3. Riga Technical University, initiative project EAGER: IMPRESS-U: "Novel Approach to New Semiconductor (Si)GeSn for Infrared Detection", total eligible funding - EUR 93,492.89

The aim of the initiative financed by the Ministry of Education and Science is to strengthen the international cooperation capacity of Latvian research institutions in research and innovation, to promote cooperation between the countries of the Baltic Sea Region, the research institutions of the United States of America and Ukraine, while supporting the preservation and integration of the research capacity of Ukrainian researchers in the world research space.
